BACKYARD CREATIONS – Full time LANDSCAPE GARDENER position
We are looking for a LANDSCAPE GARDENER to join our wonderful team!
Backyard Creations has been operating since 2008. At Backyard Creations we design, construct and maintain beautiful gardens, giving life to a range of residential and commercial properties throughout the Augusta-Margaret River, Dunsborough and Busselton locales of Western Australia.
At least 2 years of full-time work experience as a Landscape Gardener are required for this role, or 3 years if you do not have a qualification as listed below.
The main duties for this Landscape Gardener role look like this:
o Outline and set up hardscape and softscape elements
o Build gravel and paved surfaces, pergolas, ponds, fences, walls, trellises, outdoor furniture, ponds and barbecues
o Design and draft plans, choose materials and plants, and organise landscape construction timelines
o Assess hydraulic parameters for irrigation systems
o Install irrigation systems, including pumps and meters
o Inspect, repair, and maintain irrigation systems
o Arrange and sustain seedbeds and growing areas
o Develop lawn sections by applying topsoil and sowing grass, and by laying instant turf
o Cultivate and position bulbs, flowers, shrubs, hedges and trees
o Oversee and tend to planted and grassed regions by removing weeds, irrigating, fertilising, mowing and trimming
o Trim trees and hedges, and install supports and protection devices for plants
o Inspect trees to evaluate their condition and decide on necessary treatments
o Remove limbs from trees and shape branches using chainsaws and handsaws
o Apply sprays and dusts to plants and trees to manage pests and diseases, and remove diseased trees
You will be reporting directly to the Construction Supervisor
The successful candidate must have a relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or a relevant AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
This is a fulltime (38 hours/week) position.
