The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne is seeking a dynamic and passionate Lounge & Bar Manager to manage the operations of The Ritz-Carlton Lobby Lounge & Cameo Bar. This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing both bar & lobby lounge daily shift operations and supervision of employees, at the same time ensuring that our lobby lounge/bar deliver service excellence and maintaining the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the Lobby Lounge & Cameo Bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Roster, lead, train, and motivate the lounge and bar team to provide exceptional guest experiences.
- Develop and implement creative strategies to enhance revenue and drive guest engagement.
- Understands & manage beverage control including days on hand, perpetual inventory, bar pars, portion control, costs controls, beverage potentials, mix of sales analysis for beverage, issue & returns, food standards, and period end inventory.
- Manages in compliance with all local, state and Federal beverage and liquor laws.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of all beverages, ensuring adherence to The Ritz-Carlton's luxurious standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints promptly,
- Collaborate with the culinary team to offer innovative food and beverage pairings.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, adjusting operations to meet budgetary goals.
- Foster a positive working environment, encouraging teamwork and professional growth.
- Supports a departmental orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Full time working rights required.
- RSA Certificate required.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a luxury hotel or high-end bar.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining luxury service excellence and absolute attention to detail.
- Extensive knowledge of beverage operations, including wine, cocktails, and spirits.
- Passion for delivering high-quality service and creating memorable guest experiences.
