ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary purpose of the Material Controller is to be accountable for the provision of materials management process execution and ensuring aligned work prioritisation and realistic materials availability expectations. You will be responsible for Vessel Manifesting, material receipt, storage, picking, kitting of work orders, returns, repairable items, disposals and or any other as required activities by the business.
You will be responsible for maintaining warehouse overall health and stock accuracy to ensure material availability and collating and reporting warehouse data on the overall operation at the facility. Stakeholder engagement is a key component of this roll the ability to effectively communicate with client and vendors is critical to the role. Providing feedback on current stocking strategies and recommendations on inventory optimisation.
You will be the work area focal and work closely with the responsible Leading Hand to ensure Warehouse Operators adhere to Supply Chain process and drive continuous improvement.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement materials management processes in line with project procedures, strategies and HSSE plans
  • Coordinate with site to confirm material and services requirements, resolve queries and provide materials status reports as required
  • Ensure all materials databases and project reporting tools are updated with the latest purchasing, receipt delivery and shipping information
  • Monitor the flow of materials from requisition to installation to ensure all materials management activities are completed for scheduled shipment of materials to relevant sites
  • Analyse material progress reports, highlighting any discrepancies (shortage, damaged, etc) to relevant parties and develop early mitigation plans for late deliveries of critical and long lead items
  • Expedite critical items and intervene according to instructions of the focal point and technical buyers and coordinate with logistics department on receipt and release for shipping
  • Resolve materials data management and administrative issues and maintain the system change request process by liaison with the project
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and standard operating procedures of Qube and client organisations
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Car)
  • Current Forklift Licence (LF)
  • Experience in Warehousing (Desirable)
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness (Desirable)
  • IMDG (International Marine Dangerous Goods) (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of applicable standards and legislation for dangerous goods handling, storage, and transport (Desirable)
  • Current first aid certificate (Desirable)
  • High risk dogman ticket (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation relating to load restraints. (Desirable)
  • Experience in SAP will be highly regarded, as will knowledge of other inventory and work order management systems.
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills.
  • Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail.
