Night Porter /Security Officer

As a Night Porter / Security Officer your tasks and responsibilities will consist of carrying out security patrols of the Hotel, Pier complex and the perimeter, assisting with guest car parking and baggage handling and attending to guest needs during your scheduled hours of work.

Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide.
The Role
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Proven experience in a Security Officer role
- Availability to work between the hours of 11pm to 7am, including working on weekends and public holidays.
- A valid Queensland Security License
- A current C Class Drivers License
- Current First Aid Qualifications
- Valid working rights in Australia
- Incident Reporting and Investigation experience
- Knowledge of fire panels and responding to events
- Experience in assisting in Security related Incidents & Emergency Management
- Confident interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional work ethic
- Professionalism and pride within their personal grooming
- High-level problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred, however all experience will be considered.
