Nurse Practitioner (Emergency Department)

The Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical and professional leadership in the emergency department and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of best practice to achieve patient focused care.
'Eligible Nursing Workers who move to Queensland from interstate and international jurisdictions to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the First Nursing careers | Healthy Careers - Queensland Health
Generous pro rata remuneration package up to $51,619 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $75.27 to $78.59 p.h. (Nurse Grade 8)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Foster active engagement and participation collaboratively with patients, their families and the broader healthcare team to develop individualised health care plans, which empower informed decision making regarding current and future health care options inclusive of advanced care planning and self-management.
- Establish consistent and effective lines of communication across primary, secondary and tertiary care providers utilising multi-modal communication pathways.
- Provide strong leadership to motivate the multidisciplinary team to achieve agreed healthcare goals within designated timeframes; ensure follow-up to capture satisfaction and goal outcomes. Utilise professional networks and innovative approaches to enhance systems integration and reduce fragmentation and barriers.
- Provide clinical management and leadership through role modelling, mentoring and leading positive change; contributing to educational programs that keep healthcare practitioners informed and committed to the importance of coordination and flow in a patient centred care journey.
- Demonstrated leadership proficiency through the articulation of team engagement principles and personal attributes that influence a positive team culture and achieve active collaboration across multidiscipline services.
Requirements
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- The Nurse Practitioner will be required to complete THHS credentialing at commencement of their role, it is then a requirement to be completed 3 yearly.
- Mandatory: Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent
- If the successful applicant has not completed a Master of Science (Nurse Practitioner), appointment will be at the Nurse Grade 7 level. In addition, they must be enrolled in a recognised university program to undertake study at a Masters Level with the purposes of gaining Nurse Practitioner licensing through AHPRA within two years.
- Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
