The Role An opportunity has become available for a Pharmacy Assistant - Senior to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will Provide a defined range of pharmacy services for patients under the delegation and guidance of a pharmacist

• Educate patients on the use of a defined range of medicines, medication aids and devices
• Support, mentor, educate, train and supervise Pharmacy Assistants
• Use advanced knowledge of the health care system, advanced computer literacy, basic anatomy, general medical conditions, and medical terminology
• Work as an active member of the health care team and demonstrate a willingness to work under the direction of registered pharmacists and/or the dispensary manager

About you To be successful in this position you will require:

• Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT47115) or equivalent qualification
• A Certificate of Competency in 'Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock' Module (HLTPA001), as part of a Certificate III in Hospital Pharmacy or willingness to complete in 3 months
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (12 months, with the possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $2 831.10 - $3 027.20 per fortnight

About Us The Pharmacy Service provides medication management services across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS), 7 days a week. Our team of approximately 80 pharmacists are assisted in their roles by over 40 support persons comprising pharmacy assistants, administration officers, purchasing and stores personnel. The dispensary at each of the two hospital campuses is also equipped with automated dispensing robots to facilitate dispensing, distribution and inventory management activities.
