Portfolio Manager - Commercial

Qantas Group Procurement is seeking a dynamic Portfolio Category Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with business & commercial objectives. You will lead negotiations with suppliers, ensuring that our contractual arrangements deliver significant commercial benefits to the Qantas Group. As the subject matter expert, you will provide vital commercial advice to support key strategic projects across the Customer, People and Corporate services portfolio.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will be working closely with key stakeholders to understand relevant needs and objectives across the Qantas Group businesses. You are an experienced procurement professional who can think strategically and have a track record of creating and delivering value within a large, complex, multinational business. You will think innovatively and leverage your deep knowledge of procurement processes to challenge the status quo. As a leader, you will also provide coaching and mentoring to your team, fostering their growth and ensuring they consistently deliver top-tier performance. You’ll have –
  • 10+ years’ experience working in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement or commercial roles within large multi-national organisations.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in procurement category management, leading large-scale sourcing activities and complex negotiations.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability in running cross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment.
  • High level of commercial acumen, with exceptional negotiation skills and extensive experience in supplier engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective business relationships with senior stakeholders, influence decisions, and drive change.
  • Significant experience in managing complex workloads and competing priorities.
  • A strong understanding of airline F&B operations, customer ground services, people and corporate services within the aviation industry will be highly valued.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance and MCIPS qualification.
