Mermaid Beach SLSC / Merlina's Restaurant is looking for a Qualified Chef / Experience Chef / Utility player to join their team.
We require someone that has the skill and speed of a Sous Chef with the passion of an Opera Singer to complement this team.
The Club here at Mermaid is only medium size offering premium customer service with amazing food, we have a history spanning more than 75 years and have won the most prestigious award “Australian Surf Club of The Year 2022”.
About You:-
To join our team you will have a proven track record working in busy kitchens within a high volume casual dining environment. You will have more than 5 years experience with cafe / restaurant service and a proven track record delivering CONSISTENT high quality dishes. You will be creative and have a genuine passion for exceptional clean food.
To be eligible you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents. Have a positive attitude with a passion for cooking. A willingness to grow with the team and have good organization skills. Definitely NO Pre-Madonna's here, we have a close knit team and no room for ego's. We must remember this industry is not getting any easier and we must surround ourselves with the right team and Business.
To be suitable for this position the candidate will posses the following attributes :-
- Must be trade qualified in Cert III Commercial Cookery
- Cool under pressure and excited by a challenging fast paced environment
- To lead by example and be very hands on
- Willing to work weekends, nights and public holidays
- Strong level of attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to bring the best out of your team and apprentices
- Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP
- Maintaining hygiene in the kitchen
- COMMON SENSE!!!
