An exciting opportunity has become available within the Swinburne Health Service for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team.

As the Registered Nurse, you will be a critical member of the clinical team, delivering high quality care, running nurse-lead clinics, contributing to multi-disciplinary patient care, and be involved in mentoring of student nurses on placement. You will be expected to provide high-level clinical support in emergency and clinical care, nursing assistance to the medical practitioners and to participate in health education health promotion.

Working within this team would suit someone who is clinical solutions focused, has a high level of shared accountability, critical thinking and resilience. This role requires flexibility in hours to cover practice working hours - which are 08:00am to 6:00pm.

About You


  • To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Excellent triage and clinical assessment/treatment skills including emergency first aid/procedures and drug administration.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, in particular relating to Health Education, communities and negotiation.
  • Organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously but also collaboratively within the Swinburne Health Service multi-disciplinary team.
  • Understanding of Accreditation Standards and requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience using medical software - Best Practice.
  • Assisting with procedures and wound management.
  • Experience in working with young adults from cultural and linguistic diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications
  • Current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse Div. 1
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse in GP Clinic
  • Accredited Nurse Immunizer
  • Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health and/or Cervical screening provider
  • Aural Health Certificate
  • Infection Control training
  • Basic first Aid and CPR certificate
  • Mental Health First Aid
