About the role:

In this role, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide direct patient care to children with a diverse range of medical conditions. You will be responsible for assessing, monitoring, and meticulously documenting each patient’s health progress to ensure the highest quality of care. In addition to working with the healthcare team to develop personalised care plans, you'll also play a vital role in supporting families, offering education, emotional support, and guidance during challenging times.
You will be supported by a comprehensive orientation program, with guidance from managers, the education team, and local nursing mentors. Education and training will be provided to address any knowledge gaps, and ongoing professional development is actively encouraged to help you thrive in your role. Where you'll be working:

The John Hunter Children’s Hospital comprises of :

Ward J1 - Children's Surgical and Oncology Ward
Ward J2 - Adolescent Ward, Day Stay and Sleep Unit
Ward H1 - Children's Medical Ward
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Where we provide specialised care for children, young people and families, supported by a team of qualified professionals across nursing, medical, allied health, and administrative disciplines. Each member of our expert team is dedicated to ensuring the health, well-being, and comfort of every child we care for and their families. About you:

You are a compassionate, skilled nurse with a heart for paediatric care.
You possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
You have a strong sense of empathy and a passion for working with children.

Requirements and additional information:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
