About the role:
We have numerous Registered Nurse opportunities available starting in February 2025, offering you a chance to join our team and make a meaningful impact from the outset of the new year including a 4-week rotation at the John Hunter Intensive Care Unit.
The Intensive Care Services program includes completion of the NSW Transition to Practice: Intensive Care Nursing Program. It features four theoretical study days, two weeks of supported orientation and a combination of simulation and self-directed learning to support you for delivering complex and critical nursing care.
This program is designed for Nurses passionate about delivering evidence-based care in a fast-paced environment. Upon completion you will be credentialed as an Advanced Life Support provider.
Staff collaborate with the NUM and ICU Clinical Nurse Educators to develop individualised learning plans, orientation and supernumerary days. Study days for professional growth and development are tailored to individual learning needs, with ICU Specialist educational support available seven days a week.

• Maitland is in a vibrant area filled with heritage, culture, natural beauty, and gourmet dining. Ranging from gold rush towns and historical museums to pristine waterways and beaches, there are always exciting places to see and things to do in the area. The beach, vineyards, airport, and Lake Macquarie are all within a 30–40-minute drive, but right outside your door is a wonderful community that you can join. Maitland is just a two-hour drive north of Sydney.
• Our ICU has evolved into a Level 5 adult ICU, now caring for higher acuity critical care patients.
• The unit is dedicated to delivering excellence in critical care services with a strong emphasis on workplace wellbeing and a team culture supporting our staff's ongoing professional growth.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

About you:

• You will be an enthusiastic, critical thinker who is keen to provide and advocate for evidence-based best practices and ongoing professional development.
• You will have a minimum of one year of Nursing by February 2025.

Additional information:

• An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies.
• Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week commencing Tuesday 8th October 2024.
• To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
