About the opportunity

Joining the Network Operations department, you’ll be part of the team responsible for maintaining the critical SCADA application. The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Monitoring System) is the system which monitors and controls the electrical grid

You’ll learn of experienced team members on how to:

• Develop, build and implement SCADA databases and displays
• Use data modelling tools to configure the Transgrid electrical grid model
• Use graphic editing tools to layout SCADA displays and connect elements to data model
• Contribute to continuous/sustained improvement/development of configuration and testing processes, and graphical standards
• Complete other tasks related to the development of displays and databases for the GE SCADA system

As part of the role you will be required to work in the office 5 days a week and participate in an on-call roster. You can be based in either Sydney (Eastern Creek) or Newcastle.

About you

You don’t need previous experience in a similar role or even within the energy industry. This is a great opportunity for someone at beginning of their career, or even someone looking for a career change. It’s a technical role so you will need to have:

• Strong attention to detail with a high focus on accuracy
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce quality technical documentation
• Eagerness to learn and develop
• Electrical or IT qualifications preferred
