Secondary Teacher (Science with Chemistry Experience)

We are seeking a suitably qualified Senior Science Teacher with chemistry experience to work with our dedicated Academic Staff as we extend our students to achieve their potential. This is a full time, continuing position. You will be able to confidently work with Academic Staff, classroom-based School Officers, and the College Leadership Team, and work to secure the well-being, engagement, learning growth and achievement of each student. You will be able to facilitate programs, processes and practices focused on developing Mac Killop Women as curious, creative, self-directed, and resilient learners to ensure MMC students are people of purpose, achieving their potential.

About the role - As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Science & Chemistry Teaching as well as:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
