Role Overview
The Senior Financial Accountant (SFA) is responsible for completing month end procedures for specified entities within the Group, including booking journals, completing balance sheet reconciliations and providing commentary on the monthly results. Additional month end responsibilities include reviewing entities completed by the finance officers, completing the Group consolidation and assist with building out reporting and analysis.
During the month, the SFA will reconcile loan movements to bank accounts for the more complex entities and will assist the Financial Controller in overseeing the bank reconciliations performed by other team members.
The SFA will play an important role in preparing half-year and full year financial statements, FBT returns, BAS returns, Income Tax returns and assisting being a key stakeholder in liaising with auditors.
Key Accountabilities

• Prepare month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and commentary for specified entities within the Group
• Assisting in reviewing month end work completed by Finance Officers and Financial Accountants
• Reconcile the loan transactions to the bank for more complex entities
• Assist in the preparation of BAS, FBT and Income Tax returns
• Prepare the financial statements for specified entities within the Group
• Assist the Financial Controller in completing more complex notes and supporting information
• Key contact point in liaising with auditors during the hard close and full year audit
• Assist in improving the quality of month end reporting and management accounts

About You

• CA / CPA complete
• Proven evidence and experience of dealing with technical accounting matters
• A minimum of 4 years of experience from a Big 4, mid-tier (Top 20) or ASX listed background
• Be reliable and deadline focused
• Bring skills and experience to support the business in a time of significant growth
• Problem solver, able to learn quickly and hit the ground running
• ‘Can do’ attitude and commitment to meet challenging deadlines
• Experience with ESG reporting would be highly desirable
• Establish strong working rapport with other teams within the Group
• Positive contribution to company culture and work environment
