About the role
This is a key position in upholding the standards of effective risk management, and compliance within Standards Australia. Tasked with the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of resilient frameworks and risk management strategies, this role plays a critical role in safeguarding Standards Australia’s integrity.
This position is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
What you'll do
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and regular updates of Standards Australia’s robust risk management processes
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of the financial implications associated with identified risks
- Perform thorough risk assessments and evaluations, leveraging a proactive approach to anticipate and mitigate potential challenges
- Facilitate the alignment of operational risks with the strategic risk framework, aiding departments in creating and updating their risk register
- Offer strategic advice on the effective implementation of risk management methodologies, aligning recommendations with organisational goals and objectives
- Drive the continuous improvement of risk management processes
- Provide clear and insightful risk reports to relevant stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of individual accountabilities and fostering a risk-aware organisational culture
- Analyse and document external risks, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the external risk landscape
- Review, assess, and report significant risks and issues identified or reported by the business, following the incident management process to ensure timely resolution
- Develop comprehensive management plans and policies for projects, integrating risk considerations to enhance project success and mitigate potential challenges
- Conduct end-to-end file risk compliance audits, ensuring adherence to established standards and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures, recommending enhancements to adapt to evolving risk landscapes and industry developments
- Takes a proactive role in managing change, particularly in the context of evolving risk landscapes
- 5-7 years of experience in a Risk Manager role
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, risk management, legal studies, or equivalent level of experience across required level of expertise
- Proven experience in governance, risk management, and compliance roles
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, governance principles, and risk management methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence positive change.
- Strong understanding and experience applying the AS/NZS ISO 31000 Risk Management and understanding of risk management principles in a project environmental context including risk quantification and schedule risk analysis.
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management policies and processes
