About the role
Permanent full time or part time opportunity to;

• To provide high level genetic counselling services to patients referred to Genetic Health Queensland, pursuant to the policies and practices adopted by Queensland Health and the Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
• To deliver high level genetic counselling clinical services and leadership within Genetic Health Queensland to the stakeholders of Queensland Health
• To promote, through community education and liaison, the purpose and availability of genetic counselling services, particularly within the State of Queensland

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Deliver an advanced level of clinical genetic counselling within the service (which may include family history documentation, assessment of genetic risk, delivery/explanation of information and client-centred counselling) within a single or multidisciplinary team. The service delivery should be in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards with minimal need for direct clinical supervision.
• Apply professional judgement to a complex genetic counselling caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
• Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care.
• Contribute to local clinical education programs for genetic counselling students, staff, and other health professionals.
