About The Role

The Senior Investment Analyst plays a dynamic role in delivering in-depth managed funds product research to financial advisers and other stakeholders. The analyst will engage with a diverse array of asset classes as required by the Sector Manager. This may include Australian and Global Equities, Fixed Income, as well as Alternatives and various product structures, such as Listed and Unlisted Managed Funds, Listed Investment Companies, Listed Investment Trusts, and other Exchange Traded Products.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity in our Melbourne or Sydney offices, offering a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research on managed funds products, analysing financial data and synthesizing complex information into concise reports.
• Interview investment managers, assess product merits, and prepare comprehensive reports on people, resources, investment style, objectives, research approach, portfolio construction, and risk management.
• Craft engaging Fund Review reports for new and existing products, as well as industry outlook reports.
• Communicate with clients to address their needs and concerns.
• Deliver research insights at industry conferences, PD days, and for new subscribers.
• Contribute to our research process by participating in ratings committees, engaging with research clients, and providing innovative ideas.

About You:

• You're an experienced professional (7+ years) with a passion for financial analysis and industry knowledge.
• Background within a research house, stockbroker, financial advice firm, fund manager, or corporate.
• Skilled in qualitative research, able to distill complex information into clear concepts.
• You're confident in your communication skills, comfortable with in-depth interviewing, and can convey complex ideas articulately.
• Strong organizational skills will help you meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
• A solid understanding of investment markets and asset classes is essential.
• You're a team player with excellent communication skills and can work independently while meeting your objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree
• CFA
• Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)
• Master of Business Administration / Economics / Commerce / Applied Finance
• RG146 accreditation - mandatory if the incumbent is to be named as author on published research reports.
