About the Role

Within the Retail Division, the Pricing Co E (Centre of Expertise) manages the Retail and Commercial pricing strategy. Our mission is to deliver pricing efficiently to our Tribes and Bankers to drive an exceptional customer proposition and ANZ’s financial objectives.

This role sits in the Pricing Design, Strategy & Portfolio team, and will be a part of the Pricing Co E leadership team. The Design, Strategy & Portfolio team is responsible for:
a) setting pricing strategy and framework (across Classic, Plus and Suncorp Bank/ Suncorp Bank),
b) leading longer term and / or strategic pricing projects,
c) being the lead pricing partner for ANZ Plus,
d) leading Suncorp Bank’s pricing integration activities and
e) leading activities related to portfolio level pricing and funding strategies.

This role is responsible for leading all pricing integration activities (pre, during and post migration) with regards to Suncorp Bank integration. While this role is currently an individual contributor, depending on work required, this role may evolve to lead a small team.

What will your day look like?

While the exact responsibility of this role will likely evolve as we learn more about Suncorp Bank’s business and what is required for integration, we currently see the following responsibilities:

Initial scoping and discovery work: Understanding key stakeholders, pricing process and governance forums in SUN, establish a process for regular discussions and joint planning by the respective Pricing teams, undertake or contribute to product/pricing mapping analysis between Suncorp Bank and ANZ, gap analysis and initial roadmap on pricing preparation work pre integration/migration.
Assist in establishing a structured operating rhythm with SUN Pricing, Finance, and other key stakeholders during the initial phase of integration. This includes facilitating regular cadence for communication, coordinating regular check-ins, and managing light-touch activities to ensure alignment and progress throughout the first year.
Grow and maintain high-value internal networks across ANZ and Suncorp Bank, and maintain effective working relationships with peers and key stakeholders
Strategic Pricing Review: Provide input into target product state strategy as required. Conduct in-depth strategic reviews into pricing structures as per the target state product strategy. Determine the most appropriate pricing models aligned with our product vision.
Product Terms and Conditions Evaluation: Provide support to the migration team in evaluating pricing components of product terms and conditions, with a focus on understanding flexibility for pricing changes. Help develop pricing strategy as part of product/customer migration..
Migration Planning and Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct data analysis, migration scenario simulations, and stakeholder engagement activities related to migration efforts. Provide valuable input into migration timelines, sequencing on customer cohorts based on pricing and revenue considerations.

Data-Driven Pricing Optimisation: Explore opportunities to enhance and optimize pricing strategies by leveraging advanced data analytics capabilities. Analyze product and customer data to identify insights that can inform pricing decisions.
Data Quality Assessment: Assess the quality of customer and pricing data and ensure accurate mapping to data assets. Maintain data integrity throughout the migration process.
Post-Migration Monitoring: Monitor post-migration margin and mix changes. Recommend corrective actions if necessary to ensure profitability and alignment with business objectives.
Integration planning of the two Pricing functions: In the longer term, developing a view of intermediate and future state joint pricing function, continuing work on alignment of approach and capability.
What will you bring?
Strong understanding of Retail and Commercial products and pricing (e.g. from prior roles in pricing or product portfolio management teams)
High commercial acumen and financial literacy (e.g. prior experience with P&L management, FP&A, financial modelling)
Highly curious with a proactive nature, able to draw insights from a wide range of internal and external sources
Confident communicator, with ability to articulate concepts to varying audiences, coupled with ability to simplify complex concepts for others
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to build strong relationships across diverse group of stakeholders
Prior change management and / or integration experience
