Job Description
We’re looking for an SMP Senior Project Engineer to manage the SMP requirements on the Alkimos Desalinisation project.
The Project
The Alkimos Sea Water Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - A new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos. At completion of stage 1 the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year.

The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.
Key responsibilities
- To ensure that the piping subcontractors are working and installing the piping systems as per the approved isometrics, drawings, technical specifications and method statements.
- To monitor and control de piping subcontractors to be sure that they are performing in accordance with safety and quality control.
- To check and ensure that the piping subcontractors follow the technical delivery information with the design team, ensuring that the manufacturing drawings are completed and approved on time.
- To manage the piping installation subcontractors on site to ensure the proper pipe installation
- To report the pipe installation status on a weekly basis.
- To assure the compliance with the program and cost.
Required Skills and Competencies
- General experience in pipe systems installation and pre spooling.
- Experience in management of pipe installation subcontractors on site related with GRP, SS, metallic piping, PVC,
- Ability to manage technical documents and procedures.
- Good communications skills and ability to transmit and explain technical information.
