We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to contribute to one of the largest changes to higher education in Australia over the past 30 years and help shape the new Adelaide University.

About You

We are seeking an experienced senior project officer who has exceptional organisation and time management skills to work in a changing and fast paced environment. Your high level of initiative and problem-solving skills allows you to work autonomously, and your excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate and work as part of a team. Your success in this role will be driven not only by your experience in managing complex projects but also by your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

About the Role

As the Senior Project Officer you will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of projects in support of the Project Managers and Project Leads in the creation of the new Adelaide University. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams at both Universities and within the IMO, supporting project activity, and ensuring projects are delivered within scope, quality, schedule and budget. Additionally, you will assist project teams with complex administrative and technical tasks to assure the implementation and timely delivery of project activity, and you will be responsible for producing high-quality outputs, analysis, and establishing relationships by collaborating with colleagues from both Universities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support project progress according to timelines, milestones and deliverables in the project plan
  • Support the preparation and communication of high-quality reports, memorandums and presentations related to project delivery
  • Support working groups, committees and meetings with key stakeholders, including preparing and distributing meeting agendas, minute taking and follow up action items as required
  • Review and provide input to resourcing forecasts and plans to ensure that activity is supported
  • Act as the relevant reference point for the interpretation and application of the University’s policies and procedures

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven project management skills in coordinating large-scale, complex projects through completion, adhering to methodologies, reporting, timelines, scope, quality, and budget requirements
  • Strong analytical abilities to gather, synthesize, and reconcile diverse information, analysing both strategically and in detail
  • Experienced in applying effective problem-solving skills and being innovative and creative in generating solutions and facilitating workshops and discussion
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the capacity to engage, influence, and negotiate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Outstanding communication, organisational, and time management skills, demonstrating high attention to detail in preparing briefing papers, managing documents, and working autonomously under competing demands
