The Opportunity
We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Software Tester to join our Agile software development team. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the charge in ensuring our software meets the highest standards of quality and performance. You’ll manage all facets of software testing, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, and mentor a team of talented testers. Your expertise will not only drive product confidence but also ensure that our projects stay on schedule and meet our rigorous standards.
As a Senior Software Tester, you’ll collaborate closely with project teams and engage with customers and stakeholders to discuss test events and outcomes. Your role is crucial in upholding best practices in software testing while thriving in a collaborative, flat team environment. Responsibilities
Provision of software testing activities and other Client development tasks as follows:

Develop, maintain, and implement test methodologies, processes, products and tools in the SDLC. This includes:
-
Devising the appropriate method of testing individual and multiple SW components,
-
Documenting all stages of the test process where appropriate:
-
Test Plans (including strategy and effort forecasting)
-
Test Cases
-
Test Readiness Review
-
Platform testing technical notes
-
Test Summary Report
-
Incident reports
-
Coordinate, monitor and update test status and liaise with the Software Tech Lead.
-
Any other appropriate test documentation and preparation
-
Devising the appropriate method of testing individual and multiple SW components,
-
Test execution, peer review, results logging, and test result validation.
-
Assisting with requirements management for Projects and Software products.
-
Undertaking defect analysis and reporting, including liaison with project team as necessary.
-
Escalation of any issues (Software, Hardware, Resources) to the Software Tech Lead / Project Manager.
-
Work collaboratively with a distributed team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
-
Experience in developing test strategies, test plans and test cases, along with writing plans and reports and developing and delivering presentations.
-
Experience conducting testing execution, predominantly for desktop systems.
-
Solid knowledge of the software development process.
-
The ability to manage and run testing environments.
-
Skills and knowledge of testing theory, methodologies processes and procedures including but not limited to regression testing, system integration testing, Formal Qualification Testing (FQT), and verification testing.
-
Basic DBMS skills for test data preparation and loading.
-
Experience setting up and conducting system performance testing.
-
Strong interpersonal Skills, including:
-
Experience in liaising between development teams, testers, and engineers.
-
A preventive approach to the problems.
-
A cooperation team-based focus.
-
Ability to develop and implement improvements in QA processes.
-
Experience in liaising between development teams, testers, and engineers.
-
ISTQB Software Testing Certification
-
Testing experience in an AGILE development environment.
-
Simple application programming knowledge.
-
Testing qualities including:
-
attention to detail;
-
a “test to break” attitude;
-
ability to take the point of view of the customer;
-
a strong desire for quality – close enough is not good enough;
-
attention to detail;
-
An ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people; and
-
An ability to effectively utilise scarce resources to generating testing outcomes.
-
Experience establishing and using automated testing tools.
-
Knowledge or experience in DO-178C, MIL-STD-498, or similar.
-
Knowledge of Aviation Software Certification.
-
Knowledge of Defence ICT environments.
-
Ranorex or other test automation experience.
