As we are a speciality restaurant with unique offering in our menus, applicants must have minimum 2 years previous working experience with Taiwanese cuisine, with excellent wok and knifing skills and in-depth understanding of Chinese and Asian ingredients and cooking methodologies.
This is a hands-on position that requires someone to be able to manage a busy kitchen immediately.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Preparation of ingredients and planning menus
· Dumplings and pastries making
· Ensuring the presentation of all food is to expected high standards
· Expediting and controlling the flow of kitchen operations during service
· Management of kitchen costs including food and labour cost budgeting
· Freeze and preserve food, rotating stock to minimise any food wastage
· Stock control and ordering supplies
· Mentor and training junior kitchen staff in menu knowledge, presentation and correct kitchen operations
· Effective management and maintenance of all OHS requirements including kitchen cleanliness and staff/customer safety
Applicants must have full unrestricted working rights in Australia, and be willing to obtain police report.
What we offer:
· Annual Base Salary: AUD$74,000-$79,000 (38 hr/week)
· Plus Super, Allowance, Bonus.
Qualifications:
· Cert IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma in Hospitality Management, or at least three years of relevant work experience
