The Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatrics) is accountable to the Allied Health Service Manager, Women’s & Children’s Health, for the planning, development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of the paediatric Speech Pathology services provided to inpatients and outpatients.

- Salary $104,180.00 - $111,746.00 (Pro Rata) AHP3 | Part Time 18.75 hours per week - Contract Until January 2026
The Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatrics) is accountable to the Allied Health Service Manager, Women’s & Children’s Health, for the planning, development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of the paediatric Speech Pathology services provided to inpatients and outpatients.
About the role:
As the Senior Speech Pathologist, duties for the role will include:
- Provide acute speech pathology assessment and management of complex clinical cases including utilisation of instrumental investigation in the evaluation of swallowing (eg FEES, videoflouroscopy) where clinically indicated
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operation of paediatric speech pathology services at FMC
- Provide advice to management on professional service development, practice and redesign, in response to demand and client needs
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and training to other members of the team
- Participate in teaching and training of speech pathology students on clinical placement
- Experienced paediatric speech pathologist with skills in the clinical management of paediatric feeding and dysphagia
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work in an independent manner with limited supervision
- Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
