Senior Structural Designer - Major Renewables project - Flexible WFH options - Perth based
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for a Senior Structural Designer to join the team in their office in Perth. They are recognised for their strong project portfolios, which include significant achievements in the Mining, Oil and Gas, and Energy industries. Responsibilities:
- Report to the lead structural designer and be responsible for the delivery of all structural elements related to onshore facilities
- Perform checking function for 2D drawings that are produced either from Microstation 3D, PDMS or a similar 3D modelling platform
- Produce 2D drawings as required
- Assist in the coordination of workshare between various company offices
- Take initiative in resolving any discrepancies between the company and its client’s requirements
- Effectively communicate with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer
- Identify problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required
- Possesses a technical diploma with discipline-specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in structural design ideally in the oil and gas or renewables sectors or similar relevant field
- Experience working on medium to large projects within a multidisciplinary environment is essential
- Experience in the Resource sector is essential
- Prior experience in working on complex 3D modelling environment using Aveva or similar packages
- Prior experience working on a project with a 3D modelling workflow
- Extensive experience in performing detailed checking roles for major projects
- Strong knowledge of PDMS or similar 3D modelling software is essential
- Prior experience in E3D will be highly regarded
- Experience in Microstation and Autocad 2D and 3D is essential
