Description:
The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Underground Mine Geologist to join a high performing team at our Duketon operations. Reporting to the UG Geology Superintendent, you will provide high level technical advice, planning and methodology of all aspects of the mine site underground mining operations. You will also mentor and actively supervise less experienced members of the UG Geology team.

This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster.

About the Role

Developing grade control procedures
Develop and maintain grade control databases and block models
Supervision of Geologists and Sampling crews in data collection, collation, analysis and interpretation
Report on geological activities to the UG Geology Superintendent
Compile end of month reports, key statistics and reconciliation data
Manage geological related projects
Assist in development of budgets and forecasts relating to geological requirements
Assist in the mine forecasting and scheduling process
Fulfil the UG Geology Superintendent’s duties in their absence.

Skills and Experiences:
About You

Formal tertiary qualification in Geology
Demonstrate at least 7 years’ experience working in a similar role within a hard rock underground environment
Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrate experience with report writing, database usage and mining geology software
Familiarity with costing systems, cost control and forecasts
Work both autonomously and within a team environment; and
Current WA class C manual drivers licence.
