About The Opportunity
Great opportunity to be part of an expanding and dynamic Social Work service located in a rapidly growing area and covering a variety of clinical settings in Women & Children’s Social Work Team at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. An eligibility list may be created for future Temporary Full-Time and Part-Time positions.
The Women’s and Children’s Social Work team provides services to women and children across the antenatal, postnatal, and paediatric wards. Services are delivered in accordance with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
The position also offers professional development, clinical supervision, quality activities and other relevant departmental administration duties.
The Women’s and Children’s team provides the most up-to-date and best practice care and treatment to patients in the healthcare system. The team work closely together, support each other, and maintain a sociable and friendly working environment where patient experience is key in every interaction.
As a Women’s and Children’s Social Worker, experience in this sector (or transferable skills) is relevant to succeed. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical prioritisation and time management skills, communication and engagement skills, and a passion for advocacy.
What You'll Be Doing
To provide Social Work services to consumers and their carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.

- A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated experience in a health related field and ability to provide a range of Social Work interventions.
- Demonstrated experience prioritising work and managing stressful situations.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and verbal) and computer skills.
- Evidence of commitment to clinical supervision and professional learning.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to quality processes, and the application of evidenced based practice within social work.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
