Position Summary
As a Speech Therapist at Empowered Minds Australia, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients with communication, speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will develop and implement individualised treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload, including children, adolescents, and adults, providing therapy in-clinic and in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each client’s goals and needs.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, utilising a variety of therapy techniques and tools.
  • Collaborate with other allied health professionals, including occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers, to deliver holistic care.
  • Educate clients and their families on techniques to improve communication and manage speech and language challenges.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and prepare detailed progress reports.
  • Participate in regular case reviews and contribute to team meetings to ensure high-quality care.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in speech therapy.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Therapy, Speech Pathology, or a related field.
  • Registration with Speech Pathology Australia as a practising Speech Therapist.
  • Experience with a diverse client population, including children and adults (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using speech therapy assessment and treatment tools and software.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: $95,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 38 per week
