Established in 1991, we provide responsive, high-quality multi-disciplinary services to support the delivery of major construction, infrastructure, and energy projects. Our team of over 500 professionals deliver services over the full lifespan of projects, from bid to handover, from our offices across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
The role
STR has several exciting opportunities available to Project Managers with an engineering background who are interested in relocating to Australia. The roles will be based on site or in our client’s offices, and the individual must be prepared to work across the region, including remote locations.
As a Project Manager, you will oversee the entire project lifecycle on major infrastructure projects, from planning and design to execution and final handover. Delivering innovative multidisciplinary engineering solutions to our broad range of international clients.
This is a consultancy role, and you must therefore be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a client-facing environment.
  • Lead the efficient delivery of projects to meet programme and budget
  • Develop project scopes, objectives, and budgets in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success
  • Undertake technical design and/or review and supervision of project teams' design deliverables including engineering design calculation, drawings and report writing.
  • Lead on quality and safe design of technical solutions for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
  • Champion the application of digital engineering initiatives and execution of innovative advances
  • Develop strong interfaces with the key project stakeholders
  • Manage the project life cycle taking projects from the design stage through to delivery and handover
  • Manage the project planning, scheduling and coordination
  • Cost reporting against the budget
  • Manage the projects resources
  • Manage the project appointed sub-contractors and specialists
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment across teams worldwide
What we are looking for
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • A Member of The Institute of Civil Engineers - MICE (preferred)
  • 5+ years relevant experience working on infrastructure and building projects
  • Experienced in the delivery and handover of major construction works in the UK
  • Exceptional team leadership skills
  • Previous international experience as an expat would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Strong stakeholder management and client facing skills
  • Prepared to work away from home on single status and on an 11:2 rotation
  • No prior criminal convictions, spent or non-spent (visa eligibility)
  • British or Irish passport holder (visa eligibility)
  • Under the age of 40 (visa eligibility)
