The Position
NDY is a global engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across various sectors. We are seeking a talented and experienced Team Leader with a background in electrical or mechanical engineering to join and lead the Existing Buildings team in our Brisbane office. This role will focus on driving growth in the Existing Building’s sector and excellence in our current and future projects. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects from healthcare facilities through to commercial offices and retail developments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering technically excellent engineering designs for and consultancy services to our clients.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver an exciting portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Performing a lead engineer or design management role on projects.
  • Lead, motivate, inspire and guide your team to reach their full potential and deliver outstanding results.
  • Ensure that the team is the ‘enabler’ of our NDY’s service offering in the Brisbane Existing Building market
  • Mentoring and facilitating the technical development of more junior resources.
  • Driving business development, winning work, identifying the next opportunities and supporting the winning of these opportunities. Bid preparation and submittals as required.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Driving and supporting a culture of safety and quality within the team.
Who and what we’re looking for:
  • A senior practitioner with technical expertise recognised in the market and internally and a relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent. Ideally the applicant should have RPEQ status or a clear pathway to achieving that status.
  • A background in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, as well as a practical knowledge of all building services disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive change.
  • Can work alongside existing leaders and in multidisciplinary teams and to effectively collaborate with and drive the performance of those around you. A sound knowledge across a range of disciplines.
  • Established engineering experience across the full project lifecycle with a proven track record in delivering projects.
  • Sound business and commercial acumen. Understand goals and metrics that drive business, financial and project performance and manages scope and time of self and others to optimise team performance and efficiency.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding client service.
  • Politically astute with a keen understanding of team dynamics and client relations.
  • Consistently produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Open to receiving and implementing constructive feedback.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations, engineering codes, and standards.
