Upper Primary Education Assistant

A vacancy exists in upper-primary for a part-time Education Assistant at Silver Tree Steiner School to commence from Term 1, 2025.
Silver Tree Steiner School is nestled amongst over 10 hectares of beautiful bushland in the Perth Hills providing a Steiner education from Early Childhood to Year 6 for over 200 students. Supported by a vibrant and nurturing school community, the education gives children time and space to deeply experience a creative, enriching and wonder filled learning environment.
About the role:
As a Primary Education Assistant your duties will be varied, and may include the following:
- Assist Teachers to deliver lessons in accordance with the Australia Steiner curriculum, focusing on the needs of the students.
- Organise and prepare classroom materials.
- Share responsibility for supervision of all students during non-class hours within the school day.
Job criteria:
Your ideal skills, knowledge and experience will include:
- Minimum Cert III School Based Education Support, or equivalent.
- A deep interest and practical understanding of Steiner pedagogy and philosophy.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work supportively and collaboratively as part of an enthusiastic and committed school faculty.
- Commitment to continued personal and professional learning.
- Preparedness to be fully involved in the school’s activities, including festivals, meetings and Professional Development opportunities.
- Current First Aid qualification.
Successful applicant pre-requisites:
- Current Working with Children Check
- National Police Clearance (less than 12 months old, successful applicant only)
- Eligible to work in Australia.
