The Configuration & Asset Management Leader is responsible for ensuring comprehensive documentation, tracking, management, and updates of all company-owned hardware and software. This role involves assisting in the implementation of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and leading day-to-day activities related to data quality and integration. Additionally, the leader will oversee the tactical execution of asset management processes, ensuring seamless coordination with configuration management. The role is reporting to Service Management Platform Manager and will work in close collaboration with CMDB Product Manager.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Stakeholder Engagement:
o Chair meetings with stakeholders to discuss data integration sources
o Facilitate communication and engage business and IT management to promote configuration and asset management efforts and their value proposition
- Data Integration & Management:
o Manage data integration with other tools
o Lead daily meetings with the Discovery team to address any issues
o Oversee day-to-day meetings with vendors
- System & Product Lifecycle Management:
o Demonstrate an understanding of the system/product lifecycle, including phases and challenges associated with system engineering in a delivery-focused, commercially successful organization
- Process & Policy Development:
o Develop and maintain configuration and asset management processes, policies, and work instructions
o Create and manage the Configuration Management Plan/Technical Design Plan
o Identify CM (Configuration Management) and asset management requirements covering system, hardware, software, and data/information needs
- Compliance & Audits:
o Track compliance with policies and procedures, resolving or escalating any compliance issues
o Facilitate configuration and asset management audits
- Reporting & Analysis:
o Review and publish configuration and asset management reports
o Analyze configuration and asset issues and propose appropriate resolutions
- Data Quality & Security:
o Maintain data quality, integrity, and security within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
o Assist in the development, management, maintenance, enhancement, and automation of configuration and asset management tools
- Software Delivery Oversight:
o Oversee the delivery of software applications in test and deployment environments
o Participate in Change Management reviews
- Asset Management:
o Ensure all company assets (hardware and software) are accurately tracked and managed
o Develop and maintain asset management policies and procedures
o Oversee asset lifecycle management, from acquisition to disposal
o Conduct regular asset audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance
o Coordinate with procurement for asset acquisitions and vendor management
o Implement and manage tools for asset tracking and reporting
o Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and optimize license usage
ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in configuration and asset management, including hands-on experience with Service Now CMDB maintenance
- Proficiency with the Service Now platform, particularly in CMDB and asset management modules
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of ITIL v4 practices
- Experience with automated discovery tools and data integration
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
- Preferred: Certifications in Service Now, ITIL v4 framework
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems
- Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technological advancements
- Proactive approach in identifying opportunities for improvement and driving continuous improvement initiatives
