Internship: Firmware Development with C and Rust (f/m/div)

You are a committed student from the field of Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar and are looking for a new exciting student job? Infineon Power & Sensor Systems (PSS) delivers future-oriented solutions to provide cutting-edge data transport and to make tools and systems smarter, smaller, lighter and more energy-efficient. That is why you probably rely on our components every day when using devices like smartphones, chargers, coffee machines, cars, air conditioners, household aids, and much more. We are working on embedded software, which includes developing firmware for some of our products. These firmwares play a central role in our products, such as actually measuring CO2 with the PAS CO2 sensor. Come on board of our Embedded Software team in Graz to innovate together with us!

As part of our team, you will:

Investigate the feasibility of Rust for the PAS CO2 firmware written in C

Experiment with the RTIC and Embassy RTOSes

Participate in firmware development for the PAS CO2 senso r in C

Contribute to the software quality by refactoring , testing , and code reviews

Collaborate with the team to improve automatic testing with hardware

Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time or Part-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
Duration: min. 6 months

You successfully meet the requirements, if you are a motivated and committed student from the field of Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar and additionally offer these skills:

You are experienced with C or C++ and preferably also have experience with Rust

You have experience working on embedded devices or with low-level code

You have a structured approach and are motivated to learn new things

You have good English skills, both written and spoken

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group B for bachelor students, employment group D for master students (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2024.pdf).
