Legal Country Counsel Austria (f/m/d)

This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

As the Country Counsel for Austria, you will deal with a broad variety of legal matters. As Legal Country Counsel Austria you:

• Act as primary legal advisor to the country management, business units and functions for direct and indirect sales and for marketing, distribution, supply chain and operations
• Provide legal subject matter expertise and strategic advice on commercial, antitrust, employment, company secretarial, post-acquisition merger and acquisition (M&A), litigation and local regulatory compliance matters
• Draft, review and negotiate various kinds of business agreements and other legal documents, including structuring, negotiating and closing complex deals, often in multi-country transactions, to business opportunities in Austria and in Switzerland
• Identify, analyze and resolve complex legal issues with solution-oriented focus while pragmatically balancing risk
• Manage third party disputes and litigation working closely with business
• Support on regulatory and compliance matters, such as anti-corruption, public procurement and competition law, to help prevent non-compliance and mitigate business risks
• Promote legal awareness and lead legal training to business teams
• Collaborate seamlessly with the wider Legal Department
• Develop new ideas and methods to effectively address recurring legal issues or matters

If you have these Skills, Expertise, Attitude and Education…

• Advanced Austrian degree in law (Rechtsanwaltsprüfung)
• 6 - 10 years commercial legal experience at a law firm or in a legal department of a multinational company
• Ability to translate complex legal or factual issues into plain language communications
• Broad and deep knowledge of local/regional laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Prior experience in IT law and aa S business is a plus

• Strong commercial and business interest
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment
• Sense of humor
• Energetic and proactive approach with a sense of pragmatism and can-do attitude
• Strong team orientation, still being comfortable operating independently
• Ability to see the bigger picture, always with the customer focus at heart
• Fluency in German and English language (written and spoken)

We are legally obliged to quote the KV minimum salary (related to KV Handel für Angestellte) for the position (€ 47.040 gross annual salary with 38,5 h/w) but we understand that you are seeking for a competitive salary in the Austrian market which we are comfortable to match based on your individual experience and qualification.
