The Institute for European Tort Law (ETL) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Oe AW), Austria’s leading
non-university research and science institution, and the University of Graz is offering a

PROJECT SCIENTIST POSITION (F/M/X)
(part-time, 30h per week)

for a duration of 12 months; position to be filled as of October 2024.

Your tasks:

• Participation in and coordination of international comparative legal projects (scientific focus: English

Law/ Common Law; Comparative and European Private Law, Tort Law)

• Independent research

• Participation in English-language publications and research presentations

• Holding lectures

Your profile:

• Completed master's degree in law, with above-average success

• Sound knowledge of the Common Law system (in particular UK and Ireland)

• Excellent knowledge of tort law

• Excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written, or English as a first language; further

languages desirable

• Experience in comparative scientific work and scientific publications desirable

• Experience as a university lecturer desirable

• Experience abroad and/or ability to work in an international environment

• Good communication skills

• Team player, flexibility

We offer an annual gross salary of € 37.773,33, according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy
of Sciences.
