WRITER/EDITOR/CONTENT PRODUCER (F/M/*)

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?

You will be working in the Global Marketing and Communications department (Sales & Marketing - SM BA MK), writing, editing, and producing content for the company's various communications and marketing channels.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will be tasked with:

• Deep editing of texts (often originating with writers whose first language is not English), improving clarity and structure, spelling, grammar, and style
• Contributing content to Metals Magazine, the Primetals Technologies customer magazine, both in print and online
• Story mining with colleagues from Business Units and the global marketing and communications community at Primetals Technologies
• Media outreach: building relationships with and pitching stories to editors from trade media and business press, as well as coordinating trade press publications with the press officer
• Writing and editing social media copy
• Editing and proofreading press releases, brochures, website copy, presentations, conference abstracts, and papers on metallurgical subjects
• Editorial support for management and colleagues from the department or other Business Units
• Creating communications and promotion concepts for events

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS JOB?

• Degree in journalism, communications, technical writing, or related fields preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience writing and editing in a professional environment, preferably on technological subjects
• Background in technology, industrial processes, chemistry, or physics is a plus (but not a necessity—technology enthusiasts with no formal background are welcome)
• Native or near-native English* (focusing on written form)
• Professional fluency in German is a plus
• Proven ability to write about complex technological subjects in clear, concise, engaging language
• Familiarity with desktop publishing software and basic knowledge of image editing software (e.g., Adobe In Design and Photoshop)
• Familiarity with content management systems is a plus
• Background in online marketing and advertising is a plus

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

The minimum annual gross salary for this position under the collective agreement and assuming that all requirements are met is EUR EUR 50.286,18 (F/00). This could rise considerably, depending on qualifications and experience.
