Associate Scientist, Cellular Analytics

The Associate Scientist is expected to participate to scientific studies in support of technical programs as they progress from early development into Phase I/ II, Phase III. The main responsibilities may include to support other scientist in the development of new analytical methods, to validate analytical method and transfer to commercial activities. As part of the day-to-day duties, the Associate Scientist is also expected to execute analytical testing for the characterization/release of clinical lots, as well as draft analytical report under the supervision of an Expert Scientist or the Manager. The Associate Scientist will be contributing to a broad vaccine portfolio covering attenuated and live viruses, adeno vectors and m RNA based vaccines.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will plan and execute cell-based analytical testing in the GMP and non-GMP environments (at the Rixensart and Wavre sites) using different antibodies-based analytical methods, such as ELISA and Flow Cytometry.
- You will provide support and technical advice to lab technicians and participate in planning activities.
- You will participate in lab organization and maintenance, e.g., ordering reagents and following up on instrument maintenance/repair in collaboration with the lab support team.
- You will participate in method development according to Quality by Design (Qb D) principles in a phase-appropriate manner.
- You will interpret and report results after an extensive check of the raw data quality and participate in double-checking results.
- You will be involved in generating appropriate analytical documentation, including procedures, protocols, and reports (development, technical, qualification, validation).
- You will present results in internal meetings (within the team, to ASTs, etc.).
- You will interact with other Technical R&D (TRD) departments (Drug Substance, Drug Product, Statistics team) as well as GIO/QC organizations.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with the following required skills:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field is a key requirement for this role.
- At least 2 years of experience working in biotech companies or pharmaceutical industries
- Strong experience in working in a sterile environment and following GMP requirements.
- Experience in Cell Culture is a must and expertise in Flow Cytometry is highly preferred.
- Awareness of Quality by Design (Qb D) principles.
- Knowledge of method qualification/validation principles.
- Sound scientific methodology and thinking, autonomy, commitment to solving problems and bringing innovative solutions to the team.
- Communication skills (oral & writing), ability to engage the team; open-minded, result- and quality-oriented.
- The native language of the team is French; English fluency is an asset.
- Solution oriented mindset and driven personality, enthusiastic about science
- Person easy to relate to, sociable, diplomatic and adaptable
