As an Experienced professional/ Manager in the Financial Services Industry (FSI), you will be becoming the primary contact for our audit and assurance team members related to technical matters on financial instruments and market risks. You will interact with our specialists (in Belgium and in the network) on these matters, ensuring efficient and clear-cut solutions, co-leading a dynamic team that draws together specialist knowledge and Financial Services Industry experience. As a team with various competencies we assess the implementation new sector regulation and help our clients cope with the many challenges their industry faces. We focus in first instance on matters related to internal controls and procedures within the financial sector industry, while taking into account operational, strategic, risk and regulatory challenges and requirements that these institutions are exposed to today.

This includes areas within different departments at institutions such as Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, and Permanent Control, back and middle-offices. We support by providing assurance to our clients on (financial) closing & reporting processes, data processes, capital requirements (CRD), prudential reporting flows (FINREP, COREP), capital management and ALM processes, sustainable finance, designing and implementing control environment on complex transactions and new products.

With an understanding of the challenges the industry faces and tour technical expertise, you will:

Contribute to the definition and implementation of our assurance strategy towards the financial sector, by providing your insights and contributing the implementation and the Go-To-Market
Support the teams on different aspects of Solvency II, Basel III, IFRS4, IFRS 9,... including markets risks measurement and management
Support on strategic matters linked to (new) regulation
Provide our clients with answers to tackle the challenges they face in these matters
Contribute to business development in this domain, both nationally and internationally
Potentially involve yourself in more mathematical modelling related aspects of these new regulations
Participate in the career and performance development of younger professionals as a coach and/ or mentor counsellor, by providing training, …
Be trained and coached in order to develop your knowledge and skills, management and business development capabilities.
Interact with the other business units within Deloitte Belgium and the international network that focuses on FSI

Lets talk about you

Master degree in economics, commercial engineering or have an equivalent qualification
Relevant working experience of at least 3 years in the Financial Services Industry or worked as a consultant in the sector
At least 5 years working experience in total
You have a sound knowledge of the industry, including some familiarity with the principles of risk and capital modelling and fair value in the industry
Ambitious and dedicated to support our teams and serve our clients
Critical and analytical mindset
Client and result oriented
Like interacting with a broad scale of FSI specialists within our Deloitte national and international network
Fluent in English, Dutch and/or French (both spoken and written)
Eager to learn and apply new technology skills
