Mackay currently has an opening for an experienced Marine Service Technician also referred to as Marine Service Engineer, who is proficient in English and possesses the skills and qualifications listed below for our Antwerp, Belgium depot.
Marine Service Technician Job Overview:
Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Technician (MST) will install, service, and repair marine electronic equipment on board ships commercial and Navy ships.. They test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, as well as to load, update, and modify software. Technicians use their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems as well as making intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Will compose detailed service report upon completion of service work.

Marine Service Technician Qualifications:

• A University degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent technical certificates
• Must be able to read and write in English
• 3+ Years of Marine Service Technician experience in the commercial shipping industry.
• PC proficiency
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application
• GMDSS license desirable.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Physical fitness -- Work environment often involves carrying 10-20 kilograms, climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.

Must be authorized to work in Belgium without company sponsorship.
