Context of the Need

John Cockerill Hydrogen (JCH2) designs and develops a range of high-capacity electrolyzers to meet the needs of its clients. This market segment represents a strong commercial potential in which JCH2 intends to offer the best solutions. In this context, JCH2 is strengthening its teams to meet this need and is looking for a Mechanical Industrialization Engineer for its site in Seraing (Belgium).
To support the development of its Hydrogen sector, and particularly its Manufacturing department, John Cockerill is seeking a Mechanical Industrialization Engineer for its site in Seraing (Belgium).

Nature and Scope of the Mission

The Mechanical Industrialization Engineer ensures the mechanical manufacturability of products. To achieve this, he/she collaborates closely with the product development department.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Industrialization Engineer reports hierarchically to the Industrialization Manager within the Manufacturing department. Functionally, the Mechanical Industrialization Engineer primarily works within the global Manufacturing and Technical (R&D) teams. He/She is responsible for challenging product development and ensuring manufacturability of specifications.

For this, He/She:

• Acts as a driving force,
• Proposes necessary modifications to the product development department, favoring industrial solutions,
• Serves as the industrialization liaison between product development and the product/process industrialization team + suppliers,
• Prepares design justification files from an industrialization perspective,
• Intervenes from the product design phase (prototype) to series production,
• Participates in the validation of technical choices,
• Monitors technological developments to be implemented in manufacturing,
• Ensures product/market monitoring for any development likely to add value to the Group (feedback, customers, prospects…),
• Guarantees safety/environment/quality/cost/deadlines expectations.

Profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree
• 10 to 15 years of experience in mass production/methods/industrialization
• Specialist in mechanical engineering (mechanical design)
• Mastery of dimensioning, functional dimensioning
• Experience with mass production equipment (manufacturing) is a significant asset; as well as knowledge in methods engineering
• Autonomous and rigorous profile, capable of working from scratch, managing priorities and stress, flexible, capable of taking initiatives and working in a team
• Proficient in Microsoft software. Knowledge of CAD software is an asset
• Comfortable with international contacts and relations
• Proactive / Good writing skills
• Creative
• Fluent in French and English; Chinese is a plus
• Able to defend your point of view and proposals while keeping an open mind
• Able to work in a structuring team, within a matrix organization, and therefore assume responsibilities for several innovative projects (and ongoing) in parallel
• Available for short-term temporary assignments abroad
