Senior Software Engineer

Contract Duration: 6 Months (hybrid)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Android Engineer to join our team for an exciting 6-month contract in Kortrijk, Belgium.
Role Overview:
As an Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and enhancement of embedded firmware and applications on Android platforms. You will also work on Android applications and collaborate closely with a team of engineers to drive technical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded firmware for Android-based systems.
- Create and refine Android applications to meet user needs and project specifications.
- Engage in collaborative problem-solving and share your technical insights with the team.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines.
- Stay adaptable and continuously expand your knowledge of emerging technologies and tools.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software development, focusing on Kotlin/Java and C++.
- Proven track record in embedded software and firmware development for Android.
- Experience in crafting and optimizing Android applications.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following is advantageous:
- Python programming
- Low-level Android OS (experience with MDEP is highly desirable)
- Internal workings of embedded Android systems
- Low-level Linux OS
- Network protocols (TCP/UDP)
- Multithreading and thread safety practices
- Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Le SS, etc.)
- Version control systems (Git/SVN), CI/CD pipelines, TDD, and automation
- Media processing (video/audio), Open GL, GStreamer, Qt, Android media framework
- Security practices
- Dev Ops and infrastructure management
- Eagerness to explore and master new technologies as required.
- Proactive approach with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Job Types: Full-time, Freelance
Experience:
- Embedded Engineering: 5 years (Preferred)
- Low-level OS: 5 years (Preferred)
