DEV Engineer - Mainframe Expert (Freelance)

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Expert to join an agile team focused on delivering high-impact products. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, contributing your expertise to key projects. Role Overview
As a Mainframe DEV Engineer, your key responsibilities will revolve around development, design, testing, and integration tasks within the Agile framework. You will contribute to the sprint backlog, prioritize the product owner's tasks, and work closely with cross-functional team members. Your ability to work beyond your core expertise while sharing knowledge is crucial to team success.
Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in Agile sprints, contributing to development, design, testing, and integration.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver prioritized products.
• Apply advanced expertise in Mainframe MVS, COBOL, IMS/DB, DB2/SQL, and other mainframe technologies.
• Ensure continuous knowledge-sharing within the team and promote continuous improvement.
• Adhere to Agile methodologies, helping to enhance delivery speed and operational quality.

Essential Technical Expertise

• Mainframe MVS Expert with at least 5 years of experience in relevant development roles.
• Advanced skills in COBOL, MFEEE, EDz, IMS/DB, and DB2/SQL.
• Familiarity with job-scheduling tools like CTRL-M (or similar).
• Experience using repository tools such as Endevor.
• Knowledge of IMS/DC (TPX), with a strong grasp of architecture (hardware, OS, networking, middleware).
• Understanding of security procedures and development standards.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Knowledge of z OS Connect, MQ, XML, and infrastructure components.
• Experience with integration technologies and tools such as Rally and Octane.
• Familiarity with the financial sector is a plus.

Language Requirements

• Dutch/French: Active knowledge of one language, passive understanding of the other.
• English: Fluent in both written and spoken communication.
