Job purpose:
As part of the Site Leadership Team (LT), the Site GPS Lead
-
supports the business strategy and site objectives by improving process efficiency within the site by embedding the Glaxo Smith Kline Production System (GPS)
-
leads and coordinates strategic performance management and organises appropriate governance to monitor delivery of transversal and local plans
-
leads the GPS culture acceleration, creating new best-known methods for GPS and coaching the LT to succeed in culture change and strategic objectives achievement via GPS
-
will use digital levers to generate practical, creative and sustainable alternatives to support process simplification, value creation and continuous improvement
-
is a recognised expert in the Lean-Six Sigma methodology and is accountable for increasing capabilities in the Belgium site
-
will collaborate with GPS leaders across Global Supply Chain (GSC) business to ensure best practices are shared and adopted.
Your responsibilities:
Strategy deployment
-
Coach the Site LT on the process to ensure aligned & effective strategy deployment and Belgium site wide engagement
-
Support the Site LT and Managers with the definition (e.g. business case, scope, phasing, approach, etc.) and prioritisation of programs and projects in line with the strategy and deployed goals and objectives
-
Ensure efficient and effective governance, monitoring and reporting of the Master Plan and the Program & Project Portfolio by (i) implementing a supporting ‘data collection’ process that ensures correct, complete and up-to-date information, (ii) building and maintaining a site Control Room and (iii) preparing and facilitating the monthly Performance Review Meeting and Project Review Board
Continuous Improvement

As subject matter expert in GPS, support the site with the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives, both with financial and non-financial targets
-
Collaborate with process owners across the site to embed GPS in these processes to maximise effectiveness and efficiency in Safety, Quality, Supply, Cost, People & Innovation

Lead and facilitate Kaizen Events & Problem-Solving Sessions (PSS & DMAIC)
GPS capabilities development
-
Define, build and maintain the required Lean and Six Sigma capabilities
-
Ensure appropriate coaching and mentoring of line managers and experts during the execution of projects
-
Lead the team of GPS ‘Practitioners’ and build capabilities within the team
-
Develop a community of orange & green belt certified people
-
Ensure GPS is part of development plans of leaders
GPS Culture
-
Lead the GPS transformation and acceleration across departments, teams and production areas, implementing new best-known methods for GPS and coaching site LT and all direct reports to realise the cultural change through GPS
-
Ensure effective governance exists to track GPS deployment and site maturity. Deploy the self-assessment program and GPS maturity matrix
-
Coach teams to develop and maintain continuous improvement mindset
GPS network
-
Be an active member of the global GPS network, including regular performance reporting and sharing of best practices
-
Actively connect with the CI Global Team to develop, adopt and share best practices.

Why You?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
-
Master’s degree level with minimum 10 years of work experience
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Lean / 6 Sigma similar role or in a Manufacturing / Technical management role covering a wide range of activities and operations such as Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Safety, etc.
-
Demonstrated leadership of improvement initiatives and / or cultural change year on year resulting in both financial and non-financial benefit and behavioural change
-
Lean Six Sigma - Continuous Improvement
-
Operational Leadership
-
Proven excellence at influencing at all levels in the organisation
-
Analytical skills and learning agility
-
Communication and facilitation skills
-
Fluency in French (spoken and written) with a good command of English.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma skills in past projects
-
Green Belt Certification desired
-
Solid understanding of supply chain processes and interfaces in a bio-pharma environment
-
Ability to work in a complex c GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
-
Leadership and ability to lead and drive change, matrix leadership
-
Developing and managing teams and driving results
-
Ability to lead others through change
-
Ability to simplify complex processes, applying innovative thinking
-
Demonstrated business acumen
-
Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage execution tactically
