Cintra: The Multi-Cloud Database Architects
Database Consultant – Oracle/Postgres

Cintra Software & Services is an established database services provider and Oracle Platinum Partner. The company is growing at a fast pace and has a global presence in the US, UK, Romania, Brazil and India.
We are looking to grow our established expert database team by adding a skilled database professional with consulting experience This is a hands-on position requiring deep technical expertise, a disciplined approach to work, and the ability to manage complex projects from planning through delivery. Given our expanding customer base in LATAM, fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish is essential.
You will play an active role in designing and implementing database solutions, specially focusing on Oracle to Postgres migrations and support, working directly with clients, and leading hands-on technical delivery in a fast-paced, global environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of a global database consulting team, leading projects involving primarily Oracle and Oracle to Postgres analysis, database builds, upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and support.
- Analyse complexity of architecture conversion of clients’ Oracle database to Postgre SQL and efforts required
- Provide solutions and delivery of migrations primarily to cloud technologies (AWS)
- Directly implement and optimize database environments to improve performance, scalability, and reliability, especially when transitioning between database solutions (Oracle to Postgre SQL).
- Collaborate in Oracle migration and modernization of environment to cloud solutions (AWS), validating best solution, planning and executing the migration/deployment.
- Define best deployment/migration approach according requirements from the client.
- Provide feedback on technical evolution of projects to management team
- Deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets, proactively escalating unresolved challenges to meet SLA commitments.
- Collaborate with clients as an advisor, providing direct guidance and deploying solutions while coordinating with the service delivery team.
- Provide escalation support post-migration as and when needed
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
- 5+ years of experience as a Core Oracle DBA, high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- 2+ years of experience as a Postgres DBA.
- 2+ years of managing Oracle databases in AWS.
- Expertise in conversion analysis and migration tools such as AWS SCT, Ora2Pg, EDB Migration toolkit, SQL Developer
- Expertise in migration tools such as Data Guard, Golden Gate, pg Loader
- Demonstrated consulting experience with direct client engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Knowledge of cross-platform replication tools.
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Experience with other database solutions (e.g., SQL Server).
- Automation experience using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Unix system administration experience (Solaris, HP/UX, AIX).
