A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented, highly motivated and experienced teacher to lead the academic life of the school at our Urca Site, a co-educational day school which caters for around 500 students from age 11-18. Students broadly follow the UK national curriculum in Years 7-9, IGCSEs in Years 10 and 11 and the IB Diploma in Years 12 and 13. The role forms an important part of the Urca Leadership Team and reports directly to the Head of Urca Site.
The Deputy Head Academic is responsible for managing the Heads of Department, overseeing the school’s curriculum, ensuring high quality teaching and learning and raising achievement in this area, leading on staff training and development, data analysis (including exam results data), creating the school’s timetable and managing staff allocations.
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader, with a proven track record of leading learning and managing systems and data. The role would suit either an experienced Head of Department or an existing Assistant/Deputy Head looking for a new challenge.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with motivated and experienced colleagues at a well-established international school which consistently achieves results above the global average at both IGCSE and IB. Previous experience at IB and/or IGCSEs is not necessary but may be an advantage.
