Clariant is seeking a dynamic Buyer to join our team in the Americas. In this pivotal role, you'll actively manage materials within the oleo-chemical value chain and aliphatic amines for our plants across Americas region, driving efficiency and innovation in our procurement processes.

As a key player in our procurement team, you'll have the opportunity to develop key responsibilities as mentioned bellow, reporting to a global manager.


Responsibilities

• Negotiate and finalize sourcing agreements/supply-contracts aligned with business and procurement strategy

• Challenge incumbent suppliers and ensure competitive pricing using traditional and e-Sourcing tactics

• Develop and maintain price forecasts for key materials and track savings projects

• Monitor and analyze supplier performance, supply availability, and mitigate supply risks

• Collaborate with businesses, supply chain, and planning to ensure raw material availability

• Work with operations and technical functions for approval of new raw materials and suppliers

• Adhere to corporate sustainability program in conjunction with the supply base

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical science/engineering (Diploma with experience in the chemical industry can be considered)

• 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to operate in a complex, fast-paced environment

• Fluency in Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus)

• Certifications in procurement programs are a plus
