Remote Azure Cloud DBA

Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Azure SQL Managed Instances, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Analyze and optimize long-running queries, index strategies, and execution plans to improve database performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of problems.
- Work closely with development teams to optimize application database interactions.
- Lead efforts to migrate on-premises SQL Server environments to the Azure cloud, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to the business.
- Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery processes, backup strategies, and high availability solutions in line with industry best practices.
- Ensure the security of the database environment, including managing access, monitoring for security vulnerabilities, and implementing encryption protocols.
- Develop scripts and automation to streamline database management tasks, such as backups, monitoring, and scaling operations.
- Collaborate with other teams, including cloud architects, developers, and Dev Ops, to support infrastructure projects and ensure the seamless integration of database solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, procedures, and runbooks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with at least 3 years focusing on Azure cloud environments.
- Proficiency in administering, configuring, and optimizing Azure SQL databases.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and optimizing SQL queries, indexing strategies, and execution plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing database issues, performance bottlenecks, and implementing effective solutions.
- Hands-on experience with migrating on-premises databases to the Azure cloud, including strategies for minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Proven ability to design and implement disaster recovery plans and ensure high availability of cloud database systems.
- Proficient in using Power Shell, T-SQL, or other scripting languages to automate database management tasks.
- Knowledge of database security practices, including encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management.
- Azure Certifcations are nice to have.
- 100% Remote Work, Hiring from: North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Brazil.

Pay: R$14,200.00 - R$19,900.00 per month
