Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of Research Analyst involves producing and maintaining key institutional reports, such as the Brandon University Fact Book, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the Institutional Data & Analysis web page.
The nature of this position requires working with, and having access to, confidential information, therefore the successful candidate must adhere to preserving and maintaining confidentiality.
Among the duties of this position, the Research Analyst is responsible for: managing office electronic files and records, as well as University dashboards; using complex databases; monitoring and reporting on trends in institutional data at both provincial and national levels, including other data sources like Statistics Canada; developing queries to analyze data; preparing reports to communicate findings; and administrative assistance as required. In collaboration with IT Services and the Office of the Registrar, the Research Analyst provides ongoing data validation to support institutional data integrity. The Research Analyst supports projects on various topics, with the expectation that results are presented in clear, value-added management reports. Other relevant analyst duties may be required.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified applicants must possess a Grade 12 or equivalent, and a post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (computing, accounting, economics, sociology), plus three years related experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience are required. Previous analyst experience at a post-secondary institution is a strong asset.
Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel (including but not limited to pivot tables and graphs), Word Press, statistical software and business intelligence/visualization software are expected. To be successful in this role, you must have strong problem solving/analytical skills, strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.
*NOTE*
This is a full-time term position until February 14, 2025, or until such time as the regular employee returns. Skill-based testing will be required. This position is subject to a Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
