At a Kin, our Dishwashers play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency. They are responsible for ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly by keeping all utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and organized. As part of a passionate team working toward excellence, they support both back-of-house operations and food safety standards.
The Day-to-Day:
- Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes before loading them into the dishwasher
- Ensure all items are properly sanitized, dried, and stored in their appropriate locations
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, prep areas, and floors
- Assist kitchen staff with maintaining cleanliness during service
- Dispose of trash and recycling in accordance with a Kin’s waste management guidelines
- Polishing glassware & cutlery
- Follow sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines meticulously
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as required by the Chef, Sous Chef, or General Manager
- Previous dishwashing experience in a high-paced restaurant environment is an asset
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain organization in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to stand for extended periods as well as comfortable with stairs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Positive attitude and willingness to be a key part of a supportive team
- Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset
