Analyst, Application Systems & Data - Hybrid

Conduct data reviews and trend analysis to explain, interpret and provide customized information to teams and leadership. Identify data integrity issues and provide input on how to improve data processes. Prepare raw data and associated reporting for use in branch planning. Responds and provides solutions to routine and ad hoc data requests.

Identify emerging issues and opportunities that support the branch’s strategic direction, identify inefficiencies, and coordinate work to address opportunities within the branch to ensure branch business goals are met.

Coordinate and fulfill action requests to the branch originating from the Government of Alberta, AER Board, CEO’s and COO’s offices, and VP’s office.

Troubleshoot application system problems and malfunctions. Understand business needs for applications systems and liaise with IT/developers to ensure AER systems meet business needs.

Liaise with people across the branch and around the organization to ensure applications are processed smoothly, efficiently, and on time.

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, project management or a related field along with 3 to 5 years of experience in an energy or regulatory environment that includes analytics, project work (leading projects), continuous improvement initiatives, and/or planning.

Ability to lead by influence and meet tight deadlines while managing a wide variety of tasks and requests.

Strategic and critical thinking to analyze issues and propose solutions.

Work independently or with staff and leaders in multiple disciplines across all levels of the organization.
