About the Role
We are looking for a Associate Broker to serve as an integral member of NFP’s Complex Risk Solutions Group (CRSG) with a focus on Management, Cyber & Professional Liability (MCPL) business. With this role, you will open the door to an exciting career path opportunity with NFP. You will be a valued member in the Management & Professional Liability team and their respective clients.
What You’ll Do
- In concert with the AVP you will manage a growing portfolio of Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) financial lines clients
- Work with and support senior brokers in delivering excellent results for larger accounts
- Produce client materials in association with request for proposals and renewals
- Educate clients on current financial lines market conditions
- Liaise and coordinate with producers, client advocates and central broking team in order to deliver subject matter expertise and risk-transfer solutions to clients
- Meet and build relationships with key financial lines markets/insurers
- Assist with client follow-ups and back-up of account management as required
- Actively participate in training initiatives
What You Bring
- Valid RIBO or ability to obtain required licensing within 90 days
- Professional insurance designation would be considered an asset (such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, etc.)
- BA or BCOMM (or equivalent) required
- Existing Canadian insurance underwriting market relationships an asset
- Excellent understanding of financial statements and financial markets
- Highly organized with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Team player, adaptable to a changing environment and sense of humour
- Ability to perform well in a busy operation with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Sharp attention to detail with excellent decision-making & prioritization skills
- Bilingualism an asset (French).
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities, deadlines, and technology
